One of the must-see conferences during MakeUp in NewYork is happening on Thursday, September 21st at 1:30 pm. It's titled, "Materials Science—How to Build the Next Generation of Sustainable Packaging."

Learn how experts use science to source, develop, and identify the most innovative materials that will improve a package's sustainability. Speakers will present a few examples of the latest research in carbon capture, while showing how to re-think materials to lower the carbon footprint of beauty products.

The speakers are:

  • Eva Lagarde, founder at Re-Sources, excels in incorporating sustainability into product development with experience in product and market innovations within the luxury beauty sector.

  • Nick Gardner, is co-founder at Element Packaging, a global resource for innovative, sustainable packaging solutions within the beauty industry. The full-service supplier manages the process of development, from concept through design and manufacturing.

  • Madison Savilow, co-founder of carbon upcycling brand Oco, is a recognized global advocate for climate change. Oco provides circular and regenerative materials to consumer goods companies.

  • Sebba Alqetrani is the director of package and sustainability at MAC Cosmetics—and excels at managing brands with a clear plan of execution in a speed-to-market focused industry.
